17 Nov Who’s Got an Opinion? by Sandy Scheer
If anyone knows me, they know I always have an opinion. I have an opinion on where to eat, books to read, parenting and just about any subject you want to bring up. I like people that have opinions. Facebook is FULL of people with plenty of opinions! Opinions don’t scare me. Let’s talk about it! I often find out that I can learn so much by listening to others opinions, even if I disagree.
I think as pastor’s wives we need to get really good at this. It’s great to let people “vent” as long as you both have boundaries. James wrote that if we don’t bridle our tongue, our faith is useless! James 1:26
This is where the real work comes in…bridling our tongue. How do we do this? Get in God’s word and be ready to back things up in the Word. Otherwise, it’s just our opinion!
We have to speak His Word and learn when not to speak. This is a gift!
We can all get better at this and help our congregations walk in faith! I challenge you today to get into some great conversations, really listen to people while they share their opinion, then give them the only opinion that matters…..God’s Word!
Stay strong,
Sandy Scheer
