Church Highlight: Word of Life Church – Donaldsonville, LA

Word of Life Church is located in Donaldsonville, Louisiana. Donaldsonville is located along the River Road of the west bank of the Mississippi River and is a part of the Baton Rouge metropolitan statistical area. In 2020 the population of Donaldsonville was about 7,000 people.

In the early to mid-1980’s, Word of Life Church was established in the city of Donaldsonville, Louisiana. Pastors Lloyd and Mary Jane Delatte established Word of Life Church in a city where the message of faith in God was new to most. Word of Life grew to be a pillar of hope and love in the community. In the 2000’s, Pastor Lloyd went home to be with the Lord. But the work of the Lord in the great city of Donaldsonville wasn’t finished. Pastor Ikem Grigsby and his wife, Robin, are now the Lead Pastors and continue to carry the vision of Word of Life Church. Today, Word of Life impacts the city and region and teaches believers to live out of the reality of being born again.

Pastors Ikem and Robin are both graduates of Rhema Bible Training College of Broken Arrow, OK. Both have served in the ministry in multiple capacities since graduation. Before becoming the Word of Life Church pastors, they served as missionaries to Kenya, Nigeria, and Central America. While on the mission field, they were bible school directors, crusade/evangelism directors, and assisted in church planting in the nation of Kenya. In addition to their time on the mission field, their ministry traveled the United States, emphasizing seeing a generation on fire and living by faith for Jesus Christ. Pastor Ikem and his wife Robin have been married for 21 years, and they have four children. They are passionate about their relationship with Jesus and love to see people fall passionately in love with Jesus Christ.

Please join us this week as we lift up our friends at Word of Life Church in prayer! Let’s believe for God’s continuous anointing and favor over them as they continue to make a lasting difference in their local community.
