Church Highlight: Victorious Living Church – Grove City, Ohio

Grove City is a town in Ohio and has a population of about 42,000 people and it is home to Victorious Living Church. The vision of Victorious Living Church is to create a community of authentic believers and to witness a city transformed by the life changing reality of the gospel, as people come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

In 1996, Pastors Ed and Tammie Akers and a small band of 13 people met to discuss starting a new church. In July of 1996 that new church, Victorious Living Church was birthed. The church was formed with a desire to preach the victorious gospel of Jesus, beginning in Central Ohio’s Southwest Region and eventually to the world.

Pastor Brent serves as the Senior Pastor and he leads the church to its ongoing mission to share the victorious gospel of Jesus, to develop disciples as well as reach out to the local community with the love and power of God. He serves as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Elders/Directors and has served on staff at VLC since 2003. He is a graduate of World Harvest Bible College. He assumed the Senior Pastorate of VLC in 2021. Brent has been married to his wife Joni for 17 years, he is most proud to be dad to his 5 children, Zoe, Ellie, Judah, Harper, and Willow.

The mission of Victorious Living Church is the same mission Jesus gave his followers: Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. The locations have changed throughout the years, but their vision and mission has stayed the same. Their past has been filled with lots of great ministry, miracles and people, and their future looks even brighter.
