30 Oct Church Highlight: The Village Chapel – Lompoc, California
Lompoc is a city located in southern California and has a population of almost 44,000 people. It is a charming city that is known for its golfing, hiking and giant outdoor murals. Lompoc is also the home to The Village Chapel Church. In 2007 a dedicated group of people met at a hotel for their first Sunday service. Their plan was simple – reach the Lompoc Valley with the Gospel of Jesus. From those humble beginnings they moved to a local school building where they were a portable church for six years. In 2011, they purchased a building at 3915 Constellation and in 2013 they held their first Sunday services in their new building.
Recently, they have conducted a food pantry during Covid, help with backpack outreaches for Lompoc’s needy, donated hundreds of shoes to Operation Christmas, and have supported missionaries all over the world. Their mission has always been to teach the Word of God in a way where people will go out and live it in their lives. That mission continues today.
Lead Pastor, Chuck Musselwhite gave his life to Jesus when he was eight years old. He started in full time ministry in 1994 right after graduating from Vanguard University. He worked in youth ministry for ten years before he felt the call to be a lead pastor. In 2006 God opened a door to plant The Village Chapel. From the days of holding services in the hotel, he has seen God’s faithfulness through it all.
At The Village Chapel they place a priority on gathering in order to seek God together during their weekly services. Their Sunday services are casual, and they always make time before and after service to fellowship over coffee. The staff and congregation of The Village Chapel have a vision to see people in their community learn the Word of God and live it out in their lives on a daily basis.
Please join us this week as we pray for our friends at The Village Chapel. We are believing they will have an abundance of favor as they continue to reach people all throughout their community and beyond!
