Church Highlight: The Remnant Church – La Grange, TX

La Grange is a city in Fayette County, Texas, near the Colorado River. La Grange is in the center of the Texas-German belt and the estimated population is about 4,700 people. Within the walls of La Grange, Texas lies The Remnant Church. Remnant Church started with a few people gathering in the living room of the founding pastors living room every Saturday evening. Pastors Dennis and Jan Hill founded the church in 1997. They rented a place in a local shopping center and then in 1999 they bought land to build their new sanctuary which was completed on June 15, 2003.

Pastors Dennis and Jan Hill are the Founding Pastors of Remnant Church. Pastor Dennis coached football for 21 years and in 1994, he and his family moved to La Grange where he coached the La Grange Leopards for three years. He was ordained in 1997 and his wife later ordained in 2009. They followed God’s call into the ministry and left their coaching andand teaching jobs. In February of 2021, they transitioned from Lead Pastors to Founding Pastors.

Pastors Kolbe and Rachel Hill are now the Lead Pastors of The Remnant Church in La Grange. Rachel is the daughter of Pastors Dennis and Jan Hill. He also completed the Willmington School of the Bible through Liberty University. Rachel is a 2001 graduate of Texas Bible Institute, and a 2006 graduate of the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance Theatre and a minor in Music Theory. She leads the praise and worship team ministry at Remnant. Kolbe and Rachel were married in May of 2003 and ordained in 2004. They have been on staff at The Remnant Church since 2005, and they have two daughters.

The remnant Church is dedicated to reaching the lost and raising the found in their area. People often ask, “What does The Remnant mean?” and you can find references in the Bible to a “remnant,” referring to God’s people who will choose to remain with Him. (Philippians 1:6) As The Remnant Church, it is their prayer that each of us will make the choice to remain connected to Jesus as we grow and learn both personally and as a group together!

Please join us as we lift up our friends at The Remnant Church in prayer this week! Let’s come together and believe for favor and blessing upon the staff and congregation at The Remnant Church as they continue to reach the lost in their community and in their surrounding counties.
