Church Highlight: Renew Church – Asheboro, NC

Renew Church is located in the small-town of Asheboro in North Carolina. Asheboro has a population of abut 25,000 people. Renew Church not only believes in loving Jesus but strives to follow Him. Their mission is “Follow Jesus. Love others. Make Disciples.” They believe once people experience the love and grace of God, it becomes infectious, and their church family desires to share this incredible gift with their community and to the ends of the earth.

Lead Pastor, Michael Spector attended Word of Life Bible Institute and graduated from Liberty University, in Lynchburg, VA. In earlier seasons, God had called Pastor Michael to serve as a Youth Pastor and later as an Associate Pastor. In 2020 Pastor Michael and his wife Ashley felt God calling them to start a bible study, which unbeknown to them, was preparing them to plant a church called Broken Community. God was working in their lives and revealing their need for community and that’s exactly what He gave them. Through Broken Community, God brought healing and restoration and renewed hearts from a broken season. God began to reveal that even though we all come to God broken, that’s not where He wants us to stay.

Starting off in a small banquet center, God opened a door for a larger facility in October 2022.  With the new location, God had also called Broken Community to a new identity. In 2 Corinthians 5:17 it says “that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” With this verse, there was hope, there was a second chance, there was the opportunity for Jesus to restore what was broken, to begin again; to RENEW.

Through life’s hills and valleys, God had shown His extravagant love, unrelenting grace, and undeserved forgiveness.  Renew Church is a place you can find healing, hope, family, forgiveness, and experience Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit. There is always an opportunity to begin again, to renew.
