29 Apr Church Highlight: NorthRock Church – San Antonio, TX
NorthRock Church, located in San Antonio, Texas exists to see lives [re]defined by being filled with life in Christ and they want to help people connect to God, grow their faith, discover their design, and live out their purpose. Their first purpose as a church is to help the spiritually disconnected, connect with Jesus.
In the fall of 2006, Lead Pastors, Jonathan and Alicia Moore, were driving through the north part of San Antonio, when God dropped a dream in his heart. It was a dream to plant a life-giving church in San Antonio, Texas. They prayed, fasted, and talked to mentors and their pastor. During this time of seeking God’s plans, they would often drive down to San Antonio from Austin, where they lived, to just dream and pray. One day, Pastor Jonathan pulled over on the side of the road because he was overwhelmed by what he saw. There was a sea of rooftops for as far as the eye could see. God spoke to him that day and said, “Every rooftop represents a family. Every rooftop represents people who are broken and hurting, and whose lives have been shattered by addictions, marriage issues, mental health issues, and hopelessness. Every rooftop represents people who need the grace, love, and hope that I can give them. Every rooftop needs me.” So in the summer of 2008, Jonathan, Alicia, and their two boys, Mason and Britton, moved to San Antonio and launched NorthRock Church on January 18, 2009.
From the early days, they’ve dreamed of being a multi-site church that gives easy access to everyone from every corner of San Antonio. So in September 2019, they launched a second location in the central part of San Antonio which is now in the Midtown area. Then, in September of 2021, a third location opened in the far north part of San Antonio, in Bulverde, Texas. And, as they always say at NorthRock…they are just getting started! They are fiercely committed to the mission at NorthRock: To see lives [re]defined by being filled with Life in Christ. They love their city and their church, and they won’t stop until Jesus runs their town.
Please join us this week as we celebrate and lift up our friends at NorthRock Church in prayer! We are excited about all God is doing and will continue to do in and through them!
