Church Highlight: Journey’s Crossing – Germantown, MD

Germantown, Maryland is a town located about 50 miles west of the Baltimore Metro area. This lively suburb is surrounded by numerous national parks, lakes, quaint villages, shopping centers, and golf courses and has a population of 91,249 people. Germantown is also home to Journey’s Crossing Church.

Journey’s Crossing was started in 2001 by a group of friends. Even back then, these friends imagined a church that was truly welcoming to everyone, where everyone had a seat at the table. They hosted their first gathering in late 2001. Lead Pastor, Mark Wilkinson wants people to know that Journey’s Crossing is for anyone who wants to seek God, from those exploring whether God exists, to committed Christ-followers. They present biblical truths and show how they can apply it to their everyday lives….and they like to have a lot of fun while doing it.

The people at Journey’s Crossing care about one thing more than anything else, Jesus Christ. They are a family of individuals that have found hope in Jesus, and simply want as many people as possible to experience that exact same freedom. Journey’s Crossing is committed to fostering a family built around hope – hope for the future, hope for progress and hope in Jesus. As they move forward as a church family, belonging remains at the center of who they are as followers of Christ.

Simply stated, at Journey’s Crossing, they are all about Jesus. No one will be met with shame, guilt, or condemnation. They want people to find comfort in the fact that their church is made up of imperfect people with every kind of story imaginable.

Join us this week as we celebrate and lift up our friends at Journey’s Crossing in prayer! We are excited about all God is doing and will continue to do in and through them!
