Church Highlight: Journey Church – Greenwell, Louisiana

Journey Church, located in Greenwell Springs, Louisiana, is a growing, life-giving church with a heart to reach people with the message of Jesus and help them become fully devoted followers of Christ. The church centers its ministry around three clear priorities: helping people Know God, Grow Together, and Serve Others. Journey believes the church is more than a place people attend—it is the people of God actively living out their faith and sharing the Gospel with their community.

Journey Church was founded in 1994 with a desire to reach lost and hurting people. As the church continued to grow, property was purchased on Greenwell Springs Road to provide a permanent home for the ministry. In May 2008, Journey held its first official service at the new location, welcoming new families into a relevant and life-giving worship environment. Since that time, the church has continued to grow while maintaining its passion for being the hands and feet of Jesus to people in need. Today, Journey operates as one church in two locations, with its Central Campus in Greenwell Springs and its Watson Campus in Denham Springs. Journey Church is led by Pastors Jay and Stacey Coleman, who have more than two decades of pastoral ministry experience. Before becoming senior pastors of Journey in 2002, they served for eight years as associate pastors in Lafayette, Louisiana, gaining ministry experience with children, youth, singles, and seniors. Their leadership played an important role in Journey’s move to its current Greenwell Springs campus in 2008. The church celebrated the opening with an event called “The Big Day in May,” which drew more than 500 people to the new facility. Since then, Journey reports that thousands of people have been saved through the ministry and that the church family has continued to grow. That growth has also created opportunities for Journey to extend its reach into surrounding communities. In August 2021, the church launched its Watson Campus, expanding Journey’s ministry while maintaining one shared mission. Across its campuses, Journey emphasizes biblical, relevant, and practical teaching while investing in the next generation and creating opportunities for people to build relationships, discover ways to serve, and grow in their walk with Christ. Under the leadership of Pastors Jay and Stacey Coleman and the dedication of the Journey Church family, the church continues to pursue its vision of reaching friends, families, and communities with the life-giving message of Jesus. Their commitment to helping people know God, grow together, and serve others continues to make an impact throughout Greenwell Springs, Central, Watson, and beyond.

Please join us this week as we celebrate and lift up our friends at Journey Church in prayer! We are excited about all God is doing and will continue to do in and through Pastors Jay and Stacey Coleman and the Journey Church family!
