Hillvue Heights Church, located in Bowling Green, Kentucky, is a vibrant and growing congregation committed to making disciples by connecting people to Jesus Christ. The church’s vision centers around seeing lives transformed through a relationship with Jesus, and their mission is rooted in the Great Commission and the two greatest commandments found in Matthew 22:37–39. Hillvue focuses on five core biblical practices derived from Acts 2:41-47—teaching, fellowship, prayer, worship, and serving others—which shape the heartbeat of the church’s ministry and outreach.

The church has a rich and resilient history that began in 1957 in the basement of W.K. and Allene Pinkerton’s home. Originally formed to reach southern Warren County for Christ, the church experienced steady growth in its early decades. However, during the 1980s, Hillvue faced internal struggles that brought it to the brink of closure, with only around 30 members remaining by 1991. Despite these challenges, a renewed commitment to the church’s mission brought about revitalization and growth. Today, Hillvue Heights continues to be a beacon of faith in the Bowling Green community.

A major turning point for Hillvue Heights came with the leadership of Pastor Steve Ayers, who began serving as lead pastor in 1991. Under his guidance, the church experienced exponential growth both in numbers and spiritual depth. Pastor Ayers has emphasized evangelism, discipleship, and community connection, helping the church become a leading congregation in the state for baptisms. In fact, Hillvue has celebrated over 13,200 baptisms during his tenure, including a record-breaking 703 baptisms in 2024 alone. His leadership is marked by a deep passion for preaching the gospel and a heart for helping people experience the transforming power of Jesus.
