Church Highlight: Edge City Church – Mineola, New York

Edge City Church, located in Mineral, New York has a vision to be multi-ethnic, multi-generational church that makes disciples and multiplies churches. Edge City Church started as an idea amongst friends in a basement. Through the struggles of finding a location, their persistence and support of their congregation they slowly saw Edge City grow.

Fin Varughese is the Lead Pastor at Edge City, Mineola Campus. Pastor Fin was born and raised. in Queens, NY. He felt a calling to ministry and to preach the gospel at the age of 7 when he heard his grandfather preach at a church in Richmond Hill, Queens. In 1997 he entered into the music ministry, starting an evangelistic team called N.D.I.A (New Deliverance in America). The group was under a christian label called Inner Soul Records. From 1997-2006 he was able to travel around the U.S as well as outside of the country as a spoken word minister and youth preacher. Because of this wonderful platfom he was able to share the gospel to young people of all religious backgrounds. During this time he was humbled to serve in short term missions in developing nations in Africa and South America as well, serving the poor and marginalized.

In 2008, Fin was ordained into pastoral ministry. He served as the Youth Pastor of Gateway World Christian Center from 2008-2015. He then joined the Hope Church NYC church planting movement, where he planted Hope Church Long Island. He served as the Lead Pastor from 2015-2020. In 2020, Hope Church Long Island unified with Edge City Church, where Fin currently serves as the Lead Pastor at the Mineola location.

Pastor Fin and the Edge City congregation aim to create a safe place for all people to connect with God and each other. Regardless of your story, experiences, doubts or struggles all people are welcome at Edge City Church. They encourage all to join them as they co-labor with God to write a story of hope and promise in the powerful name of Jesus.
