10 Dec Church Highlight: Connections Church – Oxford, MA
Connections Church, located in Oxford, Massachusetts, a city of about 13,000 people, has been serving their community since 2019. Connections Church’s vision is to connect with the multi-cultural community of Worcester County with the Gospel through Bible teaching, serving one another, and reaching out to individuals and the community to meet both the physical and spiritual needs of both believers and unbelievers.
They started a home Bible study in 2018 and God blessed it. They moved their services into a high school two months before COVID, and they were not sure they would be able to survive through it since they could no longer meet due to quarantine. But here they are walking out their vision to connect people to God, to one another, and to the community. They welcome all, whether a believer or not, to join in this exciting journey of connecting, healing, building relationships, and sharing the love of God with everyone.
Robert Cross is the lead pastor of Connections Church. After Robert came back from the Gulf War, a fellow Marine shared the gospel with him, and soon after, he committed his life to Christ while living in San Diego, California. Soon after, Robert felt a call to the ministry and started to pursue his calling. Robert served as a men’s ministry pastor, youth pastor, singles ministry pastor, and college pastor before moving to Surprise, Arizona, to plant a church. Robert pastored the Church there for seven years. Robert then moved back home and, in 2019, planted Connections Church.
Robert has an extensive business background as he started several businesses throughout the years. This, coupled with his passion for studying and teaching God’s Word, allows him to bring unique insights and experience to his teaching and ministry. He has a heart to fulfill the Great Commission and make disciples, as well as ministering to business leaders and entrepreneurs. Robert holds an associate’s degree in business, a bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies, an M.Div in Christian Leadership, and is currently working on his Doctorate of Education in Christian Leadership.
The mission of Connections Church is the same mission Jesus gave his followers: Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Please join us this week as we celebrate and lift up our friends at Connections Church in prayer! We are excited about all God is doing and will continue to do in and through them!
