Church Highlight: City Rise Church – Bellaire, TX

City Rise Church in Bellaire, Texas, is a place where you can lift the city and the world by generously giving the gospel of Jesus Christ. They believe in creating a space where people can have authentic encounters with Christ, discover their gifts, and use them for God’s glory.

Senior Pastor, Dr. Roger Patterson and his wife, Julee have been at CityRise since 1997 when it was just West University Baptist. As senior pastor, he want everyone that connects with CityRise to have the opportunity to discover Christ through worship, develop as followers of Christ through teaching and community, and foster a culture of evangelism that seeks to engage ministry, missions and mercy to our city. This is the people of CityRise lift up their city and the world by generously giving the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Dr. Patterson received his doctorate degree (Doctor of Ministry) from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and his Master’s of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1998. In May of 2009, he accepted the call to become the next Senior Pastor of CityRise. Today, they push forward together as they see CityRise grow deep and wide in the Houston community, and he is blessed to follow Christ’s call to serve the community in that way.
