Church Highlight: Buckhead Life Church – Atlanta, Georgia

Buckhead Life Church, located in Atlanta, Georgia, is a Christ-centered congregation with a heart to see lives transformed by Jesus. The church describes itself simply as being “all about Jesus” and grounds its ministry in biblical teaching, discipleship, worship, prayer, and Christian community. Buckhead Life emphasizes the importance of the local church as a place where believers grow together and are equipped to fulfill the Great Commission.

The church’s story includes a significant season of renewal under the leadership of Pastor William and Gloria Givens. According to Buckhead Life, they led the congregation through a major transformation designed to better meet the changing needs of younger generations. This included updates to the church’s appearance, structure, and programs. Through that transition, the church developed into what it describes today as a lively and welcoming congregation where people from different walks of life can find a sense of belonging and purpose. Buckhead Life Church is led by Pastor William Givens, who has more than 20 years of ministry experience. Pastor William holds a Master of Divinity degree from Mercer University’s McAfee School of Theology and leads the church with a strong emphasis on God’s Word, discipleship, and global outreach. His ministry also extends beyond the local church through teaching, global ministry, leadership gatherings, and marriage enrichment conferences. Pastor Gloria Givens serves as an Associate Pastor and is involved in both community ministry and global missions. Missions are also represented within Buckhead Life’s pastoral leadership. Pastor Stephen Raj, who serves as an Associate Pastor, brings nearly two decades of missions experience and a background in media. His ministry at Buckhead Life includes mission-focused teaching and leadership, further reflecting the church’s desire to make an impact beyond its local congregation. Buckhead Life’s biblical convictions shape the church’s approach to ministry. The church teaches that its purpose is to exalt God, edify believers, and evangelize the world. It also emphasizes worship, learning, Christian unity, prayer, and the work of the Holy Spirit as important characteristics of a healthy and effective church. These priorities are reflected in opportunities for people to connect beyond Sunday services, including prayer and other church gatherings. Under the leadership of Pastors William and Gloria Givens and the commitment of the Buckhead Life Church family, the church continues to pursue its mission of seeing lives transformed by Christ. With a heart for biblical teaching, discipleship, missions, and reaching people throughout Atlanta and beyond, Buckhead Life Church remains focused on helping people know Jesus and live out their faith.
