Church Highlight: Destiny Bible Church – Lancaster, South Carolina

Destiny Bible Church is located in Lancaster, South Carolina. Lancaster is a small, historical town, located in the Charlotte Metropolitan area and has a population of about 8,500 people. The area has hosted two wars and is home to the Andrew Jackson State Park, named after the seventh U.S. president.

Lead Pastor, Stephen Braswell began his work in the Lord in 1988. He served for seven years as a youth director. He met his future wife, Stacie, at youth camp in 1993, and they were married in 1994. After seeking God’s will for their life, they moved to Knoxville, Tennessee to serve at Parkway Christian Fellowship in 1995. Pastor Stephen served in various areas of the church for two years.

As Pastor Stephen and Stacie continued to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, they found themselves drawn to RHEMA Bible Training Center. They were taught God’s Word in such a way that they began to better understand the leading of the Holy Spirit, living by faith, and walking in the fullness of God. After much prayer and seeking God’s will, Pastor Stephen and his family moved to Lancaster, SC. Early in 2003, the Lord called Pastor Stephen and Stacie to pioneer a church in Lancaster. On March 8, 2003 Destiny Bible Church was started in Pastor Stephen’s living room. 15 people were in attendance that first Sunday. The church then moved to a building not far from Pastor Stephen’s house.

Near the end of 2003, God moved in a mighty way as the church moved into the building where they are currently meeting. They have seen many miracles and have many testimonies as to how God has moved and worked to get them to where they are now. They are very excited about the future as they walk out God’s destiny for the whole church family!
