28 Nov Who Are You Thinking About Today by Sande Scheer
I know as Pastor’s wives we can get caught up in the details at church and overlook something that the the Holy Spirit is trying to show us. There are so many hurting people that come to all of our services every week that just need a little help. This sounds simple because that is one of the main functions of what a church provides, but I think people can easily be overlooked. I feel the church is an extension of our home. I would never let someone come to my home and not be properly greeted. I would offer them a beverage and get them a comfortable place to sit. I wouldn’t want them to sit alone and would do my best to find someone to help connect with them. I would make sure that if they needed anything that I would do my best to provide it. It’s the simple things that can make a big difference in someone’s life.
I try to look at every service from the guest’s perspective. It keeps me thinking of others instead of what microphone didn’t come on at the perfect time! You can miss a real God moment and never see what’s right in front of you…the people. I challenge you to pray for the Holy Spirit to show you who needs you this holiday season. It’s usually never the “squeaky wheel” but the one that slips in and out quietly. Look for that one! This is what makes life so much fun!
Happy Hunting,
