25 Mar Seeing in 4D
We always re-think our choices on the other side of consequences; it’s just human nature. Maybe we lose our temper with our spouse, and then, when we’re cold on the couch that night, we regret our decision.
Maybe we’re required to take a risk in order to see our dreams come to pass, but instead we let fear paralyze us and miss out on God’s blessings.
No matter what situation it is, it usually comes back to one thing—we don’t see everything. And because we don’t see everything, we can’t make decisions based on our own knowledge.
The Israelites faced this same thing in the Old Testament. Because they couldn’t see their promised land, they made choices that ended up prolonging their journey to it for 40 years. When they finally chose to trust God despite their circumstances, they made it into the land of Canaan, the land He had promised them years before.
It’s the same for us. God has a special plan, purpose and place he has called each of us to. But in order to reach them, we have to be able to trust in what we can’t see, and we have to put our faith in what God sees. We have to do what I call seeing in 4D.
If you’ve gone to a 3D movie, you know that the screen, without the glasses, looks blurry. But when you put on the glasses, everything makes sense. That’s how it is with our lives (and 4D is even better!). When things look blurry, we have to put on our glasses of prayer and see things the way God does. That’s seeing in 4D.
So how does prayer help to make things clear? Through it’s four dimensions. First, it brings us an awareness of God’s calling. The beginning of answered prayer is finding God’s Will. That comes when we spend time with God talking to Him about our lives.
Secondly, it brings us an awareness of God’s conditions. Giving birth to answered prayer requires a transformation in our hearts and lives. It requires us to make changes on the inside so that we can see them on the outside.
Then, prayer causes a strengthening of our hearts so that we keep our commitments. In prayer, we commit to God’s Will no matter what circumstances we find ourselves in. As we meditate on His promises, we’re reminded that the end result is worth any rough place we could ever find ourselves in.
The final dimension of prayer is that it helps us to stay consistent through the storms we encounter. When you’re in a tough place, remember: success requires staying.
When we pray, we begin to see our lives the way God does—in 4D. In turn, we begin to live out the life that God has planned for us. God’s ways are always higher, and His plan is always greater. So put on your prayer-glasses and see your life the way it’s meant to be!
