Church Highlight: Gold Creek Community Church – Mill Creek, WA

Sometimes the most meaningful ministry stories begin in the simplest ways. Gold Creek Community Church in Mill Creek, Washington was born from a desire to reach neighbors who might never walk into a traditional church building. Founding Pastor Dan Kellogg and his wife Audrey sensed God leading them to start something new in their community. After moving into a local neighborhood, they began inviting neighbors into their home for Bible study. Many of those first participants were new to faith—or had never explored faith before—but that small gathering became the foundation for what would grow into Gold Creek Community Church. The church began meeting at a nearby elementary school and steadily grew as more people discovered a welcoming place to encounter Jesus and authentic community.

From the very beginning, Gold Creek has carried a simple but powerful heartbeat: to meet people where they are and help them discover the hope found in Christ. Today the church’s message is captured in a short invitation that reflects its mission—helping people find hope, purpose, community, and Jesus. The church has continued to prioritize connection, creating environments where people who might feel like outsiders can find belonging and spiritual growth. Whether through vibrant worship, small groups, or outreach in the community, Gold Creek has remained committed to sharing the love and hope of Jesus with the people around them.

In May 2022, the church welcomed Lead Pastor Nick Wallsteadt, who now helps guide the vision and ministry of Gold Creek. Nick and his wife Krissa, along with their two sons, returned to the Pacific Northwest with a passion for investing in the region and building on the strong foundation already laid by the church’s leadership and community. Together with a teaching team and pastoral staff, the church continues to focus on reaching people far from God while strengthening believers in their faith.
